The missing episodes of Doctor Who are a well-known story. I think the idea of junking episodes to our modern eyes and the ways in which we consume media seems crazy. To the BBC at the time, Doctor Who (and many other programmes) was just old stock costing them money. To others, the destruction of the tapes was nothing less that cultural vandalism and a tragedy. This week, we are concentrating on these missing episodes with two bumper crosswords. Unusually for Cryptic Who, the answers to the cryptic crossword and the quick crossword are the same. The reason being that with the cryptic crossword being so difficult, I thought it only fair to do it this way. It’s time to grab your torch and to head into the archives in search of some lost tapes. They’re in there somewhere… Code Nine x
