Season 18 is a series of changes. The Fourth Doctor is on his way out and the sense of foreboding builds and builds to the climax in Logopolis. Much-loved companions leave and new ones join the TARDIS crew. Entropy even comes for the TARDIS, and eventually, the whole universe. This month, we sadly lost Christopher H Bidmead, former script editor and writer of Season 18 of Doctor Who. I have always liked Season 18, particularly its intention to stride out on a different direction in Tom Baker’s final year. That takes guts, I think. The 1960s Daleks films are 60 years old this year! Adapted from the television series, they starred Peter Cushing as the inventor Dr Who – creator of Tardis and foe of the evil Daleks. Arguably, David Tennant is to modern Doctor Who what Tom Baker was to Classic Doctor Who – he’s that iconic.
