Goodness me, I feel old. How on Earth can it be two whole decades since David Tennant first pulled on his converse for his first full series? In my head, he’s a very modern Doctor – one of the new lot – but in reality, Series Two (that Series Two) is as far away as Troughton to McCoy. The kids coming on board during that heady time when Doctor Who was everywhere will now have families of their own. Crazy. Yet, it also shows something about the availability of media nowadays. We can all watch his episodes when we want thanks to Blu-rays and via BBC iPlayer, but when I was a kid, the twenty year old stuff (Hartnell onwards) was unavailable and mostly missing! How lucky we are now!
So, this week, we’re raising a banana daiquiri to the Tenth Doctor – dashing, handsome, and full of life. Happy Birthday, Doctor! – Code Nine x
