This month, we sadly lost Christopher H Bidmead, former script editor and writer of Season 18 of Doctor Who. I have always liked Season 18, particularly its intention to stride out on a different direction in Tom Baker’s final year. That takes guts, I think. More to the point, Bidmead used science and maths as a springboard into adventure and storytelling. It wasn’t the whole point but it was essential. So, in his honour, this week’s crosswords are all about Season 18, Tom Baker’s lap of honour… Code Nine x
