Representation onscreen for Doctor Who may have been minimal in the classic series, but there were plenty of LGBTQIA movers and shakers behind the scenes from its very inception. In the twenty-first century, however, there have been many prominent LGBTQIA characters in Doctor Who across all media – television, audio, books, and comics. Growing up in the 1980s, I would have loved the representation we have now in Doctor Who, although it was the very campness of Time and the Rani that made me a fan. This week, Cryptic Who raises a rainbow flag in honour of all of these people because… well, they’re just fabulous, aren’t they? – Code Nine x
