As Doctor Who changes production team, Code Nine, your erstwhile compiler, is changing crossword provider. In their infinite wisdom, the greedy buggers at my usual go-to site for constructing them are wanting extortionate amounts of cash I don’t have for their service. So, I have invested in new software instead which can do a lot more for a lot less.
Unfortunately, this means there is no cryptic crossword this week, which is a shame because it was a corker. However, I have no intention of it becoming Cryptic Who’s Shada. I will try to copy it to the new software this week. There may be one or two hiccups along the way, so please do let me know what you think about the new style crosswords. Sadly, they aren’t timed, which is a shame because I know that many of you like timing yourselves. Sorry about that. There may come a point where I can use both types of software, but again, please bear with me.
I am not surprised there has been at least a little disruption because I am having major emergency rebuilding work done on my house. Despite everything, I’ve kept doing this blog unabated … until now!
